A Dragon NST (Network System Tester) is a system configured to be able to interact with either a cell phone or a base station. The hardware in the NST will consist of an RF signal generator in the Reverse Channel direction (cell phone to tower), an RF signal generator in the Forward Channel direction (tower to cell phone) an RF signal receiver in the Forward and Reverse Channels (tower to cell phone and cell phone to tower). The simplest configuration could consist of a single frequency such as the 800 MHz band although more typically a pair of bands is supported such as 800/1900 MHz or 900/1800 MHz with the latter being the European standard frequency ranges.
